It is extremely powerful and versatile and has a steep learning curve. OBS is what you might imagine from a popular open-source project. I have to be honest when I first installed OBS, I ran for the hills. Man圜am and CamTwist certainly worked but I found them to peg my CPU at times and lock up. I tried various solutions, including Man圜am, CamTwist, and OBS. There is a hotkey in Zoom to toggle between camera sources, but that’s not ideal when you have more than two cameras and want control over which camera you’ll jump to next. Also, using the Zoom toggle means I have to toggle through all my video feeds that I don’t really want people to see. It turns out that I was really looking for picture-in-picture so that you can see me and my document camera at the same time. However, I was really unhappy with having to toggle between the cameras. This little camera was perfect! And did the trick. After making good progress on my display setup, I purchased an IPEVO 4k document camera to share sketches and drawing in real-time. I needed extra screen real estate to lay out all the screens in a way that I could see and manage all the channels (Slides, Zoom AV channel, Breakouts, Chat, Mural, & Team Backchannel). The quest started with experimenting with ways to improve audio and video. To Kolonich’s mind, that’s where the evaluation becomes crucial. “But you’re always going to have false negatives.” “The goal is to get a test that’s at least 80% sensitive,” Kolonich said. It’s the evaluation that Kolonich felt was most important, in part because of the occasional false negative results, which can be produced in not just the rapid antigen test but other types as well. “We can evaluate them at their vehicle, we can get vital signs, we can do the test there.” “Everyone who comes here sees a physician assistant or a provider,” Kolonich said. The sample goes into one of two analyzers to be processed. Patients wait in the parking lot, where they’re assessed by a physician and given a swab similar to those used at other testing sites in the region. The test detects a protein on the covid-19 virus. The iCare facility has invested in a system to process what is called a rapid antigen test, which returns covid-19 test results in about 20 minutes. They want to put forth the best tests we have at the time.” “I think it’s very important for people to understand that all these tests are out there under the FDA’s emergency-use authorization order. “No test is 100% sensitive,” said Kolonich, a physician with iCare Urgent Care on Route 22 in Monroeville. John Kolonich of Monroeville thinks people need to be talking much more about covid-19 testing, and that those doing the testing should be talking much more to their patients. #ICARE EBENSBURG PA FULL#Urgent Care Physician Assistant Blairsville, PA 15717 From $55 an hour - Full-time, Part-time Job details Salary From $55 an hour Job Type Full-time Part-time Qualifications Urgent Care or ED: 1 year (Preferred) DEA Certification (Preferred) Benefits Pulled from the full job description 401(k) 401(k) matching Dental insurance Flexible schedule Health insurance Paid time off Show 1 more benefit Full Job Description Competitive Compensation based on experience and productivity Part-time evenings and weekends shifts available Flexible schedule (that could be shaped around your family needs) No overnight shifts or on Call schedules Malpractice Coverage Enjoy a high level of autonomy The ideal individual will be highly motivated, flexible, with good inter-personal communication and clinical judgment Willingness to learn new skills and procedures is encouraged Job Location: iCare Blairsville and iCare Ebensburg Required experience: Family Medicine, Urgent Care or ED Job Types: Full-time, Part-time Pay: From $55.00 per hour Benefits: 401(k) 401(k) matching Dental insurance Flexible schedule Health insurance Paid time off Vision insurance Medical specialties: Primary Care Urgent Care Schedule: 10 hour shift 12 hour shift 4 hour shift 8 hour shift Evening shift Weekend availability Experience: Urgent Care or ED: 1 year (Preferred) License/Certification: DEA Certification (Preferred) Work Location: One location Hiring Insights Hiring 1 candidate for this role Job activity Posted Today Today If you require alternative methods of application or screening, you must approach the employer directly to request this as Indeed is not responsible for the employer's application process.Dr. Good movies usually aren't lengthy movies, unless we're talking about cases like Toni Erdmann. Adam Brody, himself a kid celebrity back in the day, expertly carries this delightful and sobering film. The gags consistently amuse, the drawn-out mysteries pay off, and the human element persists throughout. #Current movie plaaying on tbs movie#Most impressive is how director Evan Morgan, in his feature debut, deftly balances multiple genres in a movie that often feels as if Wes Anderson's The Royal Tenenbaums, Roman Polanski's Chinatown, and modern stoner humor were somehow rolled into one. It will no doubt find a second life among film lovers, though it’s too smart and riveting to go unnoticed. Released during the first year of the pandemic, The Kid Detective understandably flew under the radar when it first came out, garnering sufficient critical praise but not enough fanfare. As Abe uncovers more details about the case, he also unwittingly finds a connection to his traumatic past and begins a long-overdue coming-of-age journey. At 32 years old, he’s still solving petty mysteries and coasting on his parents’ money, but things start to change when he is finally dealt with a real, adult case: a murder that confounds even the local police. This not only affects the Depth of Field, but the focal length of APS-C being a 1.5x it’s 35mm equivalent. This translates to the crop sensor having 43% of the area of its bigger brother. #Full frame fullThe Difference On PaperĪ full frame sensor is 24x36mm, whereas the APS-C sensor is roughly 16x24mm. So what type of bokeh changes can we expect when switching from full frame to the APS-C sensor of the Fuji. While the sharpness and noise difference is negligible (read: non-existent), I know for certain that I would have more bokehlicious backgrounds. Even after using the X-T2 system for months, I still often find myself wondering what an image would look like had I used a full frame camera instead. I hesitated for a while, but it only took one BBQ lunch with Fuji fanatic Jeffrey Lewis Bennett ( ) before I too had a full Fujifilm lineup on the way. Lighter weight, smaller lenses, quiet shutters and, oh…a cropped sensor. I began researching, and found the same list of benefits that had others jumping ship. Somewhere in the comments was the recurring explanation, “I switched to Fuji”. Sale forums were quickly becoming littered with listings of complete sets of gear. Then there was a rumble in the photography industry, one that had no clunky mirrors. I spent 5 years accustomed to the benefits, and internally scoffed at the idea of using a lowly APS-C body for any work. I rather blindly made the leap, quickly falling in love with the expanded capabilities. I was promised sharper images, less noise, and smeary backgrounds that would help isolate subjects. I remember my first photography mentor explaining to me the “necessity” of a full frame sensor. Cartons, glass bottles, and plastic bottles are all recyclable, depending on where you live. (Another study comparing plastic and glass found in favor of plastic.) While packaging waste was only 3% in the life cycle analysis that included disposal, it’s still best to recycle. Packaging accounts for only 5% of the impact of orange juice, with paperboard cartons less impactful than PET bottles. The only clear loser was reconstituted orange juice, which undergoes the energy-intensive concentration process while still being shipped in the heavier, bulkier liquid form. An older study of Tropicana juice found the energy use in preparing and storing frozen concentrate was slightly more than the additional energy used to transport liquid juices. However, evidence is inconclusive regarding the differences among processing methods. Processing is the second biggest component of juice’s footprint, at 27%. Pineapple plantations have a notorious history of workers’ rights abuses, and plantations in Brazil and Cote d’Ivoire are reported to use forced labor and child labor. Grape juice is more likely grown in the U.S., where farmworkers lack many protections guaranteed to other workers. In contrast, the expansion of apple production in China’s Loess Plateau has helped to reduce rural poverty there. Oxfam’s investigation of Brazilian fruit farms found widespread, systemic poverty among workers, particularly women poor overall working conditions and inadequate protection against pesticides. Pineapple plantation in Costa Rica Farmer Pineapples are most likely to come from Costa Rica, where, despite that country’s environmental reputation, plantations are linked to deforestation, wetland destruction, intensive agrochemical use, and soil erosion. Table grapes (particularly imported) and apples routinely show up on the Environmental Working Group’s “ Dirty Dozen” of pesticide-contaminated produce items, although juice grapes tend to be less chemical intensive than wine or table grapes. Most available data relate to wine grapes, which are different from table and juice grapes. In China, intensifying apple production has led to nitrate pollution and soil depletion. Regardless of origin, apple juice can contain high arsenic levels, an artifact of pesticide use in both countries. produces apples, most apple juice comes from China. Oranges also contribute to deforestation and displace other crops, like shade-grown coffee.Īlthough the U.S. FarmĪgricultural production accounts for half of the footprint of orange juice, split roughly between the energy inputs for machinery and the chemical inputs of fertilizer and pesticides. Although most Florida oranges are made into juice, most orange juice comes from Brazil, often blended with juice produced in the United States and sold as an American product. This part of juice’s life cycle is often hidden from consumers. But oranges shipped to Holland from Brazil have lower emissions than oranges trucked from Spain. For example, oranges delivered to New York City from California generate less than half the emissions of Mexican oranges. Travel distance and method both before and after processing makes a big difference. Apple juice saves some energy by not requiring refrigeration until opened, while oranges have a slightly lower agricultural footprint. Britain’s Ethical Consumer reports that among unprocessed fruits, apples and oranges have the lowest carbon footprint, with mangoes and grapes the highest. Apple juice comes in second, with grape and pineapple juices rounding out the top four. FruitĬitrus juices, 90% of which are orange juice, make up 63% of U.S. Unfortunately, fruit juice still has serious environmental and ethical impacts that we should all be working to minimize. What’s the truth? We won’t weigh in on nutrition, but the good news is that juice has a much lower carbon footprint than milk. Depending on who you talk to, juice is either a superfood or a sugar bomb that’s bad for us and the environment. Aside from alcohol, few beverages are as divisive as fruit juice. Try either absinthe the original way, prepared via La Louche, a process that slowly adds water to the absinthe, diluting the spirit and transforming it into a cloudy, floral-forward beverage. Lawrenceville Distilling Co., who launched their green absinthe in 2019, has even released a variation: absinthe rouge. Their propaganda claimed that the spirit was responsible for violence, madness, and other dangerous acts.) (Another theory is that the wine industry, frustrated that drinkers were trading wine for the green stuff, started a smear campaign against absinthe. According to their FAQ page, these false side effects are now attributed to alcohol poisoning and poor product regulation, leading to cheap variations with harmful ingredients. because of its potency and potentially toxic nature.īut – as the distillery puts it, “sorry to rain on your parade” – absinthe does not induce madness or visions. Absinthe, or, as it’s famously known, the “green fairy,” has been rumored to cause insane hallucinations it’s even been banned from the U.S. Though the spirit has experienced a rise in popularity over the last few years, it's had an eventful past (to say the least). In the case of local absinthe-maker Lawrenceville Distilling Co., this holy trio is blended with brandy, distilled down, and bottled, making their signature 1129 Ridge Ave. When talking absinthe, this is the holy trinity.Įvery bottle of the spirit contains these three botanicals, which gift the green drink its signature, herb-forward, licorice-y taste. The simple syrup is your sweetener, and your absinthe plays the role of both the spirit and the bitters due to the influence of wormwood as a flavoring and bittering agent.Aniseed, wormwood, and fennel. In the end, the Absinthe Frappe is a simple, refreshing drink that operates kind of like an old fashioned. And others even call for additional anisette ingredients, like Herbsaint or Pernod. Some versions call for muddling lemon and/or mint into the bottom of the glass before you mix the drink. There are a few acceptable variations on this drink where other ingredients are thrown in. Give em a quick, vigorous shake, then strain into your cocktail glass over crushed or pebble ice, top it with your soda water, and enjoy through a fancy straw. More than 100 people were hurt in what was one of the worst railroad accidents in U.S. A commuter train engineer was texting and ran a red light, striking a Union Pacific freight train head-on in the San Fernando Valley community of Chatsworth. Tuesday's crash happened on the same line as Metrolink's worst disaster, which left 25 people dead on Sept. "Safe to say it would have been much worse without it," he said. Metrolink spokesman Jeff Lustgarten said the Oxnard crash showed the technology worked. The crossing has been the scene of many crashes over the years.Īfter one killed 11 people and injured 180 others in Glendale in 2005, Metrolink invested heavily in passenger cars with collapsible bumpers and other features to absorb impact. With braking, he estimated it would have hit the truck at between 40 mph and 55 mph. The train typically would be accelerating out of the Oxnard station past verdant farm fields at about 55 mph, Metrolink spokesman Scott Johnson said. The engineer saw the abandoned vehicle and hit the brakes, but there wasn't enough time to stop, Oxnard Fire Battalion Chief Sergio Martinez said. The train, the first of the morning on the Ventura route, had just left its second stop of Oxnard on its way to downtown Los Angeles when it struck the truck around 5:45 a.m. The NTSB planned to examine the effectiveness of those cars, Sumwalt said. The four passenger cars remained largely intact, as did the locomotive. Lives were likely saved by passenger cars designed to absorb a crash that were purchased after a deadly collision a decade ago, Metrolink officials said.
